0This pretty, earthy birthday card features a Bravo Burgundy card base, a Creamy Caramel layer, and a third layer (also in Creamy Caramel) cut with the Top Note die in the Big Shot personal die cut machine. The French text stamped in Creamy Caramel on the background layer is from the Rustic Rooster Winter/Spring 2009 Hostess Set, as are the swirls inked in Bravo Burgundy on the Top Note layer. To enhance the Top Note layer, I sponged Bravo Burgundy ink around the edges - a good way to add definition when two layers of a card are cut from the same colour of paper. The quote by Woodrow Wilson on the raised, fourth layer of the card comes from the Dreams Du Jour stamp set, and is enhanced with tiny brass brads in the centre of each flower.

Inside, the simple Birthday Celebrations greeting is inked in Bravo Burgundy and comes from the Upsy Daisy set. I've used the swirl originally seen on the Top Note layer to create a visual connection between the outside and inside of the card.
